Suma Flamenca 2011 puts the perfect end to the festival with the concert ‘Muerte sin fin’ at the Teatro Real in Madrid. For the first time, the flamenco festival is being scheduled in the opera temple. On June 29th, the majestic stage will host the closing show, ‘Muerte sin fin’, a work of “spectral flamenco” by contemporary composer Mauricio Sotelo which is dedicated to Enrique Morente. As the festival director said, “it will be a wonderful way to remember Morente”. ‘Muerte sin fin’, a show premiered at the 2011 Dutch Flamenco Biennial which will have top-notch performers like guitarist Cañizares, cantaor Arcángel and bailaora Fuensanta la Moneta. It will not be the last concert. More live flamenco is scheduled this week at the Centro Cultural Paco Rabal, where guitarists of Cañorroto ‘school’, the collective Young Madrid Flamenco and guitarist Agustín Carbonell will perform. The final concert will be on July 2nd in the old town of Buitrago de Lozoya, where Tomatito presents his recital ‘Luz de guía’, a tribute to Camarón.
