Flamenco-world.com, January 2009
Flamenco Viene del Sur 2009 now
reaches seven out of the eight Andalusian provinces. Excluding
Huelva, the program will take 38 shows to seven province
capitals in Andalusia over four months. The series will
begin in Granada on February 23rd with ‘Puertas adentro’
by Antonio el Pipa and will conclude on June 3rd in Cádiz
with ‘Pasos para dos’ by Rosario
Toledo and Ana Salazar. The program stresses new shows
by veteran artists such as ‘Suspiro flamenco’
by Manuela Carrasco, ‘Baldomero Ressendi. La voz del
color’ by Manolo Sanlúcar and ‘Raíces
y alas’ by Carmen Linares, as well as recitals by
cantaores like El Pele, Pansequito and Canela de San Roque.
But there is also room for younger shows such as ‘Trimilenaria’
by David Palomar, ‘Flamenco Session’ by Dorantes
with Pastora Galván and ‘Chanta la mui’
by Olga Pericet, Daniel Doña & Marcos Flores,
among others.
