Flamenco-world.com, January 2005
With a two-month delay compared
to previous editions, Seville's Central Theater opens its
doors to flamenco. Every Tuesday from January 18th to May
17th, 2005, the consolidated ‘Flamenco viene del Sur’
(‘Flamenco Comes from the South’) series will
bring together top figures of the current flamenco scene,
without forgetting young talents. Recognized ones such as
cantaora Lole Montoya and guitarist Tomatito, figures constantly
on the rise like bailaor Javier Barón, cantaor Arcángel
and guitarist Juan Carlos Romero, transgressors such as
Tomasito,
and new talents such as bailaora Rocío Molina, guitarist
Antonia Jiménez and cantaor Raúl Montesinos,
among others, will have a place in the program. Another
two theaters managed by the Andalusian Junta, Málaga's
Cánovas Theater and Granada's Alhambra Theater, have
had their respective versions of ‘Flamenco Comes from
the South’ running since last October.
