It’s not enough to learn
just steps or chords. The teaching of flamenco is increasing
its scope. Taller Flamenco accomplish these new needs in
its new offer of workshops to be held at its headquarters
in Seville (Spain) from September 13th to October 4th, 2010.
In the special program provided by the the academy
during the celebration of the 16th Biennial of Flamenco,
a highlight are the 'Courses for Teachers', aimed to improve
the methodology of flamenco dance classes. Also cool are
the 'Compass Courses & Palmas' with Bobote, one of the
most popular artists in that speciality as guest artist
of companies such as Israel Galván and Manuela Carrasco.
The schedule emphasizes also other new aspects in flamenco
methods with the lectures of Dr. Castilla about injury prevention
for both guitarists and dancers. This offer is complemented
with dance workshops by teachers such as Ana
Morales, Ángeles
Gabaldón and Manuela
Ríos, among others, and “guitar accompaniment
for singing and dancing” workshops taught by Michele
Iaccarino and Manuel Berraquero, among others. And as a
bonus track every Friday night the students will enjoy a
flamenco party. Taller Flamenco, founded in 1994, is already
a main reference in the teaching of flamenco, with a philosophy
based in the encounter with the Andalusian culture as a
personal experience of the student.
