Incredible as it may seem, Camarón
de la Isla's discography continues to have new
presentations. The latest is the re-release in
a limited digipack (cardboard box) edition of
all the songs recorded by the cantaor. The added
value of these revamped albums is the inclusion
of a sheet on the inside with the transcription
in tablature of all the cantes for guitar, indicating
the chords and the time. An un-released complement
up until now.
To the delight of music lovers,
the original cover of each album is maintained,
and the cante lyrics are revised, appearing complete
and written exactly, as well as the credits. The
libretto texts which analyze and contextualize
each album are penned by flamencologists José
Manuel Gamboa and Faustino Núñez,
also authors of the complete book ‘Camarón.
Vida y obra’ (‘Camarón. Life
and Work’). And they are illustrated with
photos of the artist.

The recordings have been re-mastered
for the occasion; that is, there has been a general
touch-up of the sound in order to achieve a more
sparkling result. Although the listener might
hardly find differences to the digital versions
which have been commercialized by the record company
up until now.
The launching of Camarón's
discography in a re-mastered version coincides
with that of a new ‘Integral’ box,
with a revamped design and three new titles: ‘París,
1987’, ‘Antología inédita’
and ‘Camarón en la Venta Vargas’.
Beware; both the digipack albums and the complete
collection will be sold for a limited time only.
